Drama: Boys Over Flowers

So over the last two days, I watched "Boys over Flowers" :) It was pretty cute :P As far as Korean dramas though, I still prefer "Coffee Prince" :D *goes and turns on the soundtrack for CP*

Btw, this entry will have spoilers, spoilers, and more spoilers!! O_o

I will not go into the details of what happened with the plot(s) of the drama(s), for I just want to comment on a few small details. Throughout most of the drama, I wanted JiHoo to end up with JanDi because, as JanDi said herself, he is basically her soulmate. A part of me wanted JoonPyo to not remember JanDi in the last ep, so she could end up as JiHoo's girlfriend and later wife, as that old man predicted - and as JiHoo's grandfather wanted.

Speaking oh JiHoo's grandfather, it seems like he died at the end when they were showing the "4 years later" part. JanDi and JiHoo were talking about how the clinic shut down, so I assume the clinic would only shut down as a result of its only doctor dying :/ It was sad how little time JiHoo got to spend with his grandfather. The picture on his desk was so cute though :) --> of the two of them fishing :P

A few other things were unclear. Did JoonPyo's mom finally come around and spend more time with her family?? Or was she only doing that in the "4 years later" part because her husband woke up?? Oh, and if she did come around, did she go and try to talk to her husband while he was in a coma?? And is that the reason why he woke up?? :) I wonder how they announced that [his coming out of the coma] to the public, as it seems like they told everyone he was dead...?? xD Oh, and also as a random comment -- imagine JanDi's reaction when she finally came over to JoonPyo's house and saw the man she was trying to awaken before... him walking around, all healthy.... imagine her like, "WHAT?? You're the FATHER?? O___O" xD

But again, going back to the JiHoo/JanDi issue... he said something along the lines of him possibly staying back a year just so she wouldn't have to complete her last year of medical school alone. After that, he said something that seemed to imply he went to medical school either because of his grandfather or because of JanDi... aww :) Cute!! But again... sad that he doesn't end up with her :(

As for similarities to Coffee Prince [CP]... let's see... How about the fact that the basic plot line is this: Rich, hot, and egotistical guy who has everything falls in love with a girl who is barely getting by. They meet at school [work, not school in CP] and initially hate each other. The girl then develops a crush on one of the guy's best friends / group-mates [cousin, not friend in CP], which causes some problems... When the family of the guy find out that he wants to marry someone who is poor, they are super angry and try to tell him to find someone else. It's a happily ever after ending where the guy is a changed man and is no longer his old egotistical and lazy self :P hahah, of course there are a lot more details that don't match up, but that is essentially the gist of BOTH of them. Hahah, wow.

Oooooh, and don't forget that HanGyul's grandma in CP was JoonPyo's grandma in BOF. I was surprised at that. Oh, and YiJung [the 3rd F4 guy, who ends up with JanDi's best friend GaEul :]...? His brother apparently runs a coffee shop and makes a "leaf" design in the coffee froth, which I think was one of the designs featured in the opening of CP :P

Anyways, I highly recommend Coffee Prince!! And Boys Over Flowers too, but CP comes first :) [Those are links to the first episodes!! :P]

On a totally random note, WHY IS IT RAINING/POURING IN DECEMBER?! :( It's almost Christmas, and there's no snow. WHAT!!!!???? >.< One of my friends said on Fb,

I loooove slinkies :) I remember when I was a little child, I used to have a plastic rainbow-colored slinky. It was huuuuuge, but then it got tangled somehow [that was probably my fault xD], and I was sad... it seems like my obsession with slinkies has stuck with me. I have at least 7-8 small slinkies at home of various shapes, colors, and sizes. And my boyfriend recently gave me another one :P <3 Hahaha, they're so cool :D

But anyways... the reason I mention them is because 1. I don't wanna continue working on my English essay (research paper), and 2. I found a Yahoo! article that talked about slinkies. In it, they said, "A world full of ruined Slinkies is not a world in which we want to live." Hahahah, I definitely agree with that :)

I love inspirational people - like Nick Vujicic and Josh Sundquist. No, they don't have to be handicapped, but they have to be making a difference. These two go around and speak to schools and other audiences about never giving up and stuff like that.

The first video of Nick Vujicic that I ever saw, made me cry. It was amazing... watch it here!! It made me laugh, it made me cry.

Nick Vujicic also has a music video - the song is called "Something More." Soooo goooood!! Yes, he actually sang the song :)

I think the first time I ever watched Josh Sundquist's videos, I had found one called, "How to turn your limp into a pimp walk," and I think this is the same video even though it had a different title.

Both of these amazing people have faced hardships in their life, and I think they deserve to have their story spread... pass it on?? :)

Opinion: Fencing

11/16/11

Fencing is like Sex. If someone screams at you for an extended amount of time, you probably won't perform that well... if at all [if you're a guy]. And if you're a girl, you probably won't be in the mood for anything after that. Or am I mistaken??

Well... after the [more experienced] guy in fencing grew frustrated with me after I couldn't execute the perfect move after like 1-2 tries, his tone became that which you would use when screaming at someone. I honestly think I got even worse at that point... I couldn't even concentrate on fencing because I was too preoccupied with him being unhappy with my performance.

In his defense, he later told me that he only gets frustrated with people when he knows they can do better. And I could. A few minutes after the president of the fencing club came by [and told the other guy to calm down], I got better and did the move he wanted me to do. The guy from before was surprised xD

During my bout with a girl, the guy [again] pointed out my mistakes. Thing is... I KNEW I was making them. And I was going to correct them, but it was a bit hard with the guy being unhelpful and distracting. This is how I work best: once you point out my mistakes and give me some helpful advice AND THEN LEAVE ME TO IT TO WORK ON IT, I should be able to get the moves down with a bit of practice. If you scream at me, it won't help anything, and that will just get the two of us frustrated.

I've had some kind of obsession with lyric videos on youtube. My newest one is "Breathing" by Jason Derulo. I love the colors and the font of the words :) I dunno. It's better than just a youtube video that shows a few slides of the lyrics.

My previous fave was also by Jason Derulo: "Don't Wanna Go Home." BE WARNED: The video flashes in bright colors, so if you have photosensitive epilepsy, don't watch it because it might trigger a seizure O_o but seriously though, I love that lyric video :D

An article by Nick Carr pointed out the same ideas that have been on my mind recently.

I had to read the article for English, and as I was reading it, I couldn't help agreeing with practically everything that Carr said. Something about the media today is changing the way we think, and it's a bit scary... read the article for more info. It's sorta long, but I think it's definitely worth the few minutes that you're gonna take to read it.
