So I have recently realized that I looooove a *cute plot* where the girl must cross-dress to reach a dream/goal or to get somewhere she where she wouldn't be able to get to if she wasn't a guy. Need an example??
~~~
Hana Kimi (Japanese manga) - The girl Mizuki puts on a uniform and attends an all-boys high school to get closer to her high-jumping idol Sano
Coffee Prince (2007 Korean Drama) - The girl Eun Chan [who looks like a guy anyway] pretends to be a guy to get a quick job and save her family, which then involves into a permanent source of employment
Mulan (1998 film) - "Mulan disguises herself as a man by making her hair shorter and wearing a soldier's outfit so that her disabled father won't have to go." Source
"Motocrossed (2001 film) – Alana Austin is a girl whose father won't let her race because she's a girl, so she goes undercover and poses as a male to race for her big brother." Source
"She's the Man (2006 movie) – Amanda Bynes dresses as a man to be accepted in Illyria's boys' soccer team and get revenge in Cornwall. Based on the play Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare." Source
~~~
The website TvTropes actually calls that character a "Sweet Polly Oliver" :) Upon further investigation, it seems like a LOT of K-dramas have this :D OMG. Mush watch more k-dramas xD *obsess*
Personally I prefer the girl-dresses-as-guy stories, but guy-dresses-as-girl stories are funny too :) Like... Tootsie, Some Like it Hot, Mrs. Doubtfire, etc...
